An Open Letter From The Martins

Dear Friend,

We’re fortunate to come into contact with many talented and determined people who feel like God has laid a calling on their lives for the ministry, and we’re constantly asked how to “make it” in Christian music.

Our suggestion is, simply, “keep singing, keep praying”! Sing at every opportunity you possibly can and pray night and day about the direction God wants you to take. If after much prayer, you still feel like God has called you to sing, seek to perfect your talent and advance your skills.

Just a couple suggestions: for the best advice on putting your performance together, we recommend you obtaining Tom Jackson Productions’ video set. You can visit his website and order a copy here. If you are a vocal performer (a singer), we suggest you utilize the advice, resources, and techniques implored by The Vocal Coach. You may visit Chris & Carole Beatty’s website here.

Depending on the genre of music you favor, some “industry” websites you may want to visit are the Gospel Music Association, the Southern Gospel Music Association, and the Southern Gospel Music Guild. Also, we’re spokespersons for the Academy of Gospel Music Arts.

We hope this has been helpful to you. We can’t over-emphasize the importance of PRAYER in your decision, and the road ahead will not be easy. But remember, “The Will of God won’t lead you, where the Grace of God won’t keep you”.

We wish you all God’s best!
