Multi-Grammy
Award Winner Bill Gaither Wednesday, April 3 marks an exciting day for the city of New York. Multi-Grammy Award winner Bill Gaither has gathered an entourage of Gospel music recording artists to one location for an exciting video taping. This musical extravaganza takes place at Carnegie Hall in New York City. "Anyone who has ever wanted to attend a Gaither Video taping will certainly want to be a part of this night," Bill Gaither explains. After receiving many Grammy and Dove Awards and building several publishing and recording companies, Bill embarked on a project to preserve the music that attracted him as a young boy. He gathered the pioneers of the Gospel sound together in a small studio in Nashville, TN, and invited them to sing on one of the Gaither Vocal Band recordings with Southern Gospel flavor. The outgrowth of that "Homecoming" recording has been an amazing collection of music video experiences and has captured the heart of Gospel Music lovers across the country and around the world. Since that spontaneous experience, the old and new friends have gathered many times in Gaither's own studios in Alexandria, IN, as well as historic and majestic places throughout the United Stated to share the songs of the Gospel and stories of God at work in their lives. These videos have become international best sellers, and have renewed the understanding of and appreciation for the common ground shared by all Gospel Music. According Neilson ratings, the Gaither Gospel Series, which airs regularly on TNN, is one of the Network's most popular programs. Presently the program is aired every Saturday night. In fact, the popular video series has been viewed by millions via such popular networks as TNN, Odyssey and Armed Forces Television, in addition to home video. More than six million copies of the four dozen plus Homecoming videos have been sold. "The Gaithers have filmed in some wonderful places around the world, including England, Ireland and Hawaii, states Gary Gentry of Premier Productions, promoter of the concert. "We are excited about bringing the best music in the world to the best concert hall in the world which happens to be located in the best city in the world!" Excitement is most evident as preparation takes place for this special event, which will feature a few new faces, as well as many of Gospel music's most legendary performers, including the likes of The Martins, Mark Lowry, The Easters, Jake Hess, Anthony Burger, Jessy Dixon, Janet Paschal, Talley Trio, Russ Raff, Sue Dodge, Crabb Family, Ivan Parker, Ben Speer, Allison Speer, Ann Downing, The Isaacs, Amy Lambert, Mary Tom Reid, Reggie & Ladye Love Smith, Woody Wright, George Younce, Donnie Sumner, Stephen Hill, Eva Mae LeFevre, Gloria Gaither, Buddy Greene and many others, including Gaither's own popular group, The Gaither Vocal Band.
